What is WIC?
WIC is a nutrition education, health promotion, and supplemental food program to assist women, infants, and children who have nutritional needs.
WIC Provides at No Cost To You:
- Nutritious foods to supplement your diet.
- Information on healthy eating.
- Referrals for health care.
Who is eligible for WIC in Clallam County?
- Live in Washington State, and
- Are pregnant, a new mother, or a child under five years of age, and
- Meet the income guidelines below, and
- Have a medical or nutritional need.
To see if you meet the income guidelines, consult the table below. Some income sources are not counted, and income can be averaged if your family income changes month to month. So, even if you are over-income according to this table, we recommend calling the WIC office to determine eligibility. If you live in Port Angeles or Sequim, please call 360-417-2352 and our staff can help you determine whether or not you are eligible. If you live in Forks or Clallam Bay, please call 360-374-3121.

*A household is defined as a group of related or non-related individuals, who
usually, although not necessarily, are living together and share income.
**Gross income is income before taxes and deductions.
- If you receive Basic Food Program benefits, Medical Assistance,
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), or Food Distribution Program
on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) you are income eligible for WIC.
- Foster children under age five and foster teens who are pregnant are
income eligible for WIC.
- A woman who is pregnant is counted as a family of two. If she is
having twins, she is counted as a family of three.
