The Crescent Community Advisory Council was established by Resolution 16 adopted February 21, 2006, to enhance communication between Clallam County government and the citizens of the Crescent area. Initially, the council was authorized to operate until December 31, 2011. On September 11, 2012, the council was reauthorized by Resolution No. 62 until December 31, 2017 and again on July 25, 2017 by Resolution No. 67 until December 31, 2022.
The council assists in gathering and analyzing information on growth management issues such as land use and zoning, public utility service delivery, transportation, making recommendations, and advancing the orderly growth and development of the area.
The council meets bi-monthly on the second Wednesday of the month at 5 p.m. in the Joyce Fire Hall. Meeting agendas are posted on the bulletin board at the Joyce General Store when they are available.
The current organizational structure of the council is as follows:
- One representative and one alternate of the Crescent School District
- One representative and one alternate from the Student Body of the Crescent School District
- One representative of Fire District 4
- One representative of the Crescent Grange
- One area business owner or individual who owns commercially zoned property
- One member representing the Crescent Water Association
- Three at-large members
